Baltimore and St. Louis will meet in the Relocation Bowl, and those are two cities that have to wonder why they ever pitched in public money to entice teams to move there.

Baltimore is 16-31-1 since becoming the Ravens, and Georgia Frontiere’s team is 22-42 since leaving Anaheim.

At midweek there were 4,000 tickets left unsold in St. Louis. If you can’t sell out the home opener, maybe it’s time to reconsider moving back to Los Angeles.

The Browns get three extra players on their roster for the first three weeks of the season because they are an expansion team. They would need Brett Favre, Randy Moss and Terrell Davis to win more games than they are going to lose this season.

Kicker Steve Lindsey learned he had made the Jacksonville roster on the Internet.

“I got it off the Jaguars’ site,” Lindsey said. “My fiancee called me and said, ‘I’m pulling it up right now.’ She actually said, ‘You’re not on there.’ I was like, ‘Well, I knew it.’ And she said, ‘No, you’re not on the cut list.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s crazy.’ ”

Sure is, because the Jaguars also kept kicker Mike Hollis, who will boot the field goals and extra points. Lindsey will handle the kickoffs and e-mailing.

The Steelers are expected to be more potent this season with the hiring of offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, but during the exhibition season the offense scored only five touchdowns.
