Even though a broken hand will limit Warren Sapp in practice, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t expect the injury to keep the Pro Bowl defensive tackle from playing against the Minnesota Vikings this week.

Sapp, tied for the league lead with four sacks, broke two bones in his left hand when he was hit by teammate John Lynch during the second quarter of Sunday’s 13-10 victory over Denver.

Four men overdosed on drugs during Sunday’s game between Denver and Tampa Bay but were expected to survive, police in Tampa, Fla., said.

The men, who were attending the Buccaneers’ 13-10 victory at Raymond James Stadium, were believed to have overdosed on gamma hydroxy butyrate, or GHB.

The drug can be taken in liquid or powder form and often is used with alcohol or other drugs.

Even though Mark Chmura’s wife and agent have urged him to retire, the Green Bay Packer tight end said he barely even considered it.

Chmura said his neck injury is different--and less serious--than the ones that ended the season of Dallas Cowboy fullback Daryl Johnston and the career of Cleveland Brown linebacker Chris Spielman this season.
