Notre Dame’s Curiel Is Mission MVP

Linebacker Tom Curiel of Notre Dame High has been selected most valuable player in the Mission League.

Quarterback John Sciarra of St. Francis was named most valuable back, and tackle Tim Volk of Notre Dame was chosen most valuable lineman.

EQUESTRIAN

* La Reina High won the team championship and La Canada was runner-up in the second Interscholastic Equestrian League competition of the year Sunday at Atlasta Ranch in Santa Clarita.

Lindsey Hinther of Westlake was overall individual champion and Mickey Sullivan of Thousand Oaks Hillcrest Christian was runner-up in individual competition.

BASEBALL

* Coach Phil Torres of Crescenta Valley High will conduct a holiday baseball camp for players in grades four through eight on Dec. 27-28 at Stengel Field in Glendale.

DIVING

* Dive Thousand Oaks has openings in its program for boys 6-15. No experience is necessary.

Members are taught fundamentals and given an opportunity to participate in year-round competitions based on age and experience.
