The score was tied, 9-9, at the half, with neither team taking more than a two-goal lead. The South led, 11-10, heading into the final quarter, and Fox’s goal off a missed shot clinched the title.
The county’s three all-star teams dominated the tournament, which featured eight all-star teams from around Southern California. The North defeated Central Orange County, 11-9, in the semifinals and the South defeated Tri-Counties, 16-11, to advance to the title game.
