San Clemente, Basketball
Blackshire scored 13 points and had seven rebounds to help third-ranked San Clemente defeat
fourth-
ranked Esperanza, 59-55, in the championship of the South Coast Holiday Tournament at University High.
Blackshire, who was named tournament MVP, had 16 points and nine rebounds in the Tritons’ semifinal victory over Santa Margarita Friday, and scored 13 points in a second-round victory over El Modena.

Andy Rankin to fumble the ball in the end zone, and Vaquero Zach Taylor recovered for a touchback. In the fourth quarter, Bollard intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it 46 yards.

Defeated defending state champion Beau McCoy of Vacaville, 5-3, to win the 189-pound title at the Clovis Shoot-Out.

The senior forward scored the game’s only goal as No. 8 Fountain Valley upset fourth-ranked Santa Margarita.
