Corona del Mar High sophomore Anne Yelsey was defeated by No. 4-seeded Marion Bartoli, 6-3, 6-1, in the round of 16 of the girls’ 16 singles division at the Orange Bowl tournament in Key Biscayne, Fla.

Yelsey, the Pacific Coast League singles champion, had advanced with a 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-2 victory over Alexandria Liles of Pompano Beach, Fla., in the round of 32 Wednesday.

Villa Park freshman Lindsey Nelson lost to Sara Annundsen, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, in the round of 32.

Nelson and singles quarterfinalist Theresa Logar of Rochester Hills, Mich., teamed to beat Breda Kovac and Sandra Volk of Slovakia, 6-1, 6-1, in a round-of-32 doubles match.
