Doudtchenko Helps Estancia Win

Sophomore Nikolai Doudtchenko scored two goals to help Estancia defeat Saddleback, 4-2, in a nonleague boys’ soccer game Friday at Estancia.

Alfredo Murillo and Ricardo Garcia also scored for the Eagles (2-2-2), who led, 3-0, at the half.

In other nonleague games:

Buena Park 6, La Quinta 1--Bryan Barragan scored all six goals for host Buena Park (2-2-3), including two in the first three minutes. Rafael Soto and Juan Cuevas had two assists each.

El Toro 2, Orange 1--Dennis Giakos scored with about 10 minutes remaining to give El Toro the lead. Giakos had missed a penalty kick about 10 minutes earlier. David Webb scored in the first half for the Chargers (3-4).

Ramiro Galindez scored in the first half for Orange.

No. 8 Esperanza 3, Tustin 1--John O’Hale scored in the first half and Shane O’Meara had two second-half goals for host Esperanza (7-1-1).

Jimmy Yakout scored in the second half for Tustin.

Fairmont 4, Redlands Arrowhead Christian 0--Jason and Steve Park scored two goals each for Fairmont (5-2-1). Joe Park had six saves for the Huskies.

Foothill 2, Aliso Niguel 1--Daniel Shaw’s goal in the second half gave Foothill the lead for good. David McAulay’s goal gave the Knights (2-2-2) the lead, but Brockton Schermerhorn scored to tie it, 1-1, later in the first half for Aliso Niguel (3-1-2).

No. 7 Fountain Valley 5, Corona del Mar 1--Brian Henry, Ryan Lancaster, Matt Fluck, Sean Iliff and Maluwa Manda scored for visiting Fountain Valley (4-1-2). Blake Dillion scored for Corona del Mar.

Laguna Hills 3, Kennedy 0--Senior Paul Jimenez scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season for Laguna Hills (4-1-3). Matt Chandler also scored in the second half and Nate Warner had three assists for the Hawks.

St. Margaret’s 1, Calvary Chapel 0--Jesse Clanton’s goal in the 32nd minute was the game-winner for the Tartans (7-1). Sean Dishong made 10 saves for Calvary Chapel (3-7).

Sunny Hills 1, Norwalk Glenn 0--Eric Treu scored in the 34th minute off an assist from Juan Quezada for the Lancers (2-4-0). Glenn is 1-2-1.

Valencia 2, Garden Grove 1--Jose Ventura scored the tying goal in the 62nd minute and Rigo Flores scored his third game-winning goal in the 68th minute for Valencia (4-3). Eric Garcia’s goal provided the Argonauts (0-2) a first-half lead.

No. 1 Woodbridge 0, Santa Ana 0--Goalkeeper Jason Del Valle made two saves for the visiting Warriors (4-1-2). Santa Ana goalkeeper Danny Morales stopped eight Woodbridge shots.

In nonleague girls’ soccer:

Sonora 1, Whittier 1--Junior Amber Plumlee scored the tying goal on a penalty kick with 10 minutes remaining for the Raiders (2-4-2). Whittier is 5-0-2.

No. 5 Woodbridge 5, Mater Dei 1--Christene Johnson scored twice for the host Warriors (3-1-2), who led, 3-0, at halftime. Sophomore Natalie Macias scored in the second half for Mater Dei (3-3-1).
