In the third-place game:

No. 2 San Clemente 54, Laguna Hills 43--Megan Blackshire scored 16 points and Lindsey Pluimer had 14 for the Tritons (9-1) in the third-place game. Megan Aaker scored 15 for Laguna Hills (6-5).

In the Nike Tournament Of Champions:

Brea Olinda 62, Campbell County (Wyo.) 59--Jackie Lord made a key interception late in the game with the Ladycats leading by two and then was fouled and made a free throw to give Brea Olinda (5-2) its final margin of victory in the consolation game in Chicago.

Jennifer Katsuyama had 23 points, Lord had 14 and Jenny Skrifvars was tough on defense, holding Notre Dame-bound forward Kelsey Wicks, who scored 21 points, to one field goal in the second half.

Brea Olinda, the third-ranked team in the county, faces Chicago Dunbar in a fifth-place game today.

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

No. 7 Woodbridge 60, El Toro 42--The Warriors scored the game’s first 14 points and led, 40-14, at intermission. Kelsi Sousa scored 21 points for Woodbridge (10-0). Carrie Twaddell scored 12 points for El Toro (7-3).

In the Irvine World New Tournament:

Santa Fe Springs St. Paul 82, University 72--Fausto Gonzalez and Dontay Holloway scored 26 points each as St. Paul (6-3) knocked out defending tournament champion University. Jason Garey scored 24 points for the Trojans (4-4). St. Paul will play Irvine in a semifinal game Friday at University High.

In the Lahaina Luna (Hawaii) boys’ basketball tournament:

No. 4 Villa Park 52, Mission Viejo 47 (OT)--Mission Viejo’s Mykel Valentine hit a three-pointer with 4.7 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime, where Villa Park scored the first eight points and held off the Diablos in the quarterfinal game.

Valentine finished with 19 points, while Matt MacGinnis led Villa Park (11-1) with 13 points. The Spartans play Palisades in a semifinal today.

In the Trabuco Hills tournament:

No. 2 Santa Margarita 78, Aliso Niguel 52--Brandon Rohe scored 22 points, R.J. Socci had 17 and Lenny Collins added 13 for the Eagles (9-0). Brandon Sievers led Aliso Niguel (5-3) with 22 points.
