In the Pacific Coast League:
University 9, Corona del Mar 7--Marion Gee’s third goal, on a penalty shot, was the game winner. Teammate Julie Voorhees drew the foul. Christina Hewko scored three goals for Corona del Mar (13-8, 2-1). University (8-9, 2-1), Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach are tied for first place.
In the Sea View League:
Woodbridge 8, Aliso Niguel 3--The Warriors (7-15, 1-2) recorded their first league victory as Kara Danduran and Rochelle Gauthier combined for five goals. Gauthier, who scored two goals, had a career-high 10 steals.
In Freeway League girls’ basketball:
No. 1 Troy 82, Buena Park 17--Alicia Komaki scored 16 points and Katie Hardeman scored 13 points for visiting Troy (20-3, 7-0), which also got nine points and seven assists from Veronica Johns--Richardson.
In the Garden Grove League:
Los Amigos 54, Bolsa Grande 43--Monica Curiel scored 17 points as host Los Amigos (9-13, 6-3) erased a 27-19 halftime deficit. Debby Baeder scored a game-high 22 for Bolsa Grande.
