Portland 86, Loyola Marymount 70--Ryan Jones scored a career-high 28 points and the Pilots (8-12, 2-5 in the West Coast Conference) ended a losing streak at four by pulling away from the Lions (2-18, 0-7) early in the second half at Portland, Ore.
Portland led 37-26 at halftime and began the second half with a 14-6 run.
Troy Collins had 15 points and nine rebounds for Portland, and freshman Tim Frost had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.
Stanley Thorne tied his career high with 21 points and Elton Mashack had 15 for Loyola Marymount, which shot 33%. The Lions did manage to make 28 of 42 free throws.
