David Towery had a key home run and Eddie Romprey got the victory and had the winning hit as Fullerton beat host Scottsdale, 10-9, in the Glendale (Ariz.) tournament Saturday.

Towery’s home run tied the score, 9-9, in the sixth inning.

Romprey (1-0) didn’t give up a run in the top of the seventh, then got the winning hit in the bottom of the inning in a game called because of darkness.

Earlier, the Hornets (2-2) defeated Phoenix, 8-7, when Romprey walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth to break a 7-7 tie.
