Valenzuela Can’t Handle the Truth
Jockey Patrick Valenzuela continues to live a life of self-blamelessness and denial. Disappointed after his suspension by the Santa Anita stewards last Friday, he said, “I thought it was going to be a lot less.” Why? He should be elated. He has had a million chances. This is a guy who should have been banned for life several drug violations ago. But no, he can probably apply for his license (again!) next year.
Steve Howe has to be thinking, “Boy, I shoulda been a jockey!”
