Hey, Bud: Glavine Hates New York Too

According to Ross Newhan’s article, “Rocker Still the Hot Topic,” [Feb. 19] Atlanta pitcher Tom Glavine stated that he will not stand next to Rocker during batting practice in New York, hinting that the New York fans might turn violent and throw things onto the field.

Is his characterization of the New Yorkers’ potential for violence toward Rocker any less offensive than Rocker’s comments? Shouldn’t he be castigated in the press daily, as is Rocker? Where is Commissioner Bud Selig? Is he going to tolerate these comments? Shouldn’t Glavine receive the same suspension as Rocker?

We all know that won’t happen. Political correctness strikes again!
