2 Hurt as Vehicles Collide, Van Slides Into MTA Bus
Two people were injured, one critically, in an accident involving a car, van and Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, police said Wednesday.
A station wagon heading east on Vanowen Street collided with a minivan at Lindley Avenue shortly before 10:30 a.m. The van overturned and slid into an MTA bus, Los Angeles Police Officer Walter Hogue said.
None of the 21 people aboard the bus were injured, Hogue said.
The driver of the station wagon, a 67-year-old Reseda man, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was in critical condition suffering from severe abdominal injuries, Hogue said.
The van’s driver, a 52-year-old North Hills man, was taken to Granada Hills Hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
