Home Invaders Attack, Rob 2 in Santa Ana

Two men invaded a Santa Ana home Thursday, terrorizing the owner and his employee for more than an hour before taking off with thousands of dollars, several guns and the homeowner’s car, authorities said.

Jaime Rocha, 41, owner of a painting company, and employee Juan Manuel Martinez, 24, were treated for minor injuries, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Raul Luna.

Authorities gave this account of the incident:

Shortly after 7 a.m. as Rocha and Martinez were preparing to leave for work, the two men broke into the house, demanding money. The attackers pistol-whipped Rocha and hit Martinez in the head with a baseball bat. As they ransacked the house, they spoke by two-way radio to someone outside the house.

The two men escaped in Rocha’s 1995 silver Nissan Pathfinder.

“It’s obviously not a random attack but very well planned,” Luna said. “They knew what they were after.”

Luna said the victims did not recognize the invaders, who they described as in their 30s, both about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and with dark hair and mustaches.
