Woman Killed in Crash Is Identified
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has identified the Thousand Oaks woman who was killed Friday evening in a collision in Newhall.
Joanna Atkarian, 45, died after her car rear-ended another vehicle and then struck the center divider on the Antelope Valley Freeway, just north of the Golden State Freeway.
Atkarian was northbound about 7:30 p.m. when she began weaving between lanes for unknown reasons, authorities said.
Her car then slammed into the back of another vehicle, whose driver was uninjured.
Atkarian was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, where she died.
An autopsy is scheduled today, an official with the coroner’s office said.
