A Tujunga man who was critically injured when a Mack truck rolled over on top of his car in North Hollywood died Wednesday, authorities said.

Frank Rivera, 37, was driving his 1971 Chevrolet northbound on Vineland Avenue about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday when he collided with the truck heading eastbound on Sherman Way, said Det. Tom Whetzel of LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division.

The truck also struck a third car, an AMC Eagle, Whetzel said. No one else was seriously injured.

Authorities speculated the accident was caused by either Rivera or the truck driver running a red light.

Rivera was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he later died, Whetzel said.

The accident is under investigation.
