5 Painters Injured When Scaffolding Collapses
SAN PEDRO —
Five painters were hurt at a construction site Friday when their scaffold collapsed, causing them to fall 15 to 20 feet to the pavement, city firefighters reported.
The men were injured shortly before 8 a.m. at the main entrance of a Home Depot store under construction at Gaffey Street and Westmont Drive. The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
Firefighters said four of the men suffered minor injuries, while the fifth worker suffered moderate to serious injuries.
