Intervention Center to Hold Open House

Share

E.P. Foster School’s intervention center will hold an open house at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The center is designed to help misbehaving students learn how to relate with peers and teachers. Students work on their class assignments with teachers and discuss their behavior with counselors.

Senior Deputy Probation Officer Pamella Parrish said the goal of the center is to reduce the need for suspension. Students can keep up with their schoolwork while still working to improve their behavior.

The center also offers free parenting classes in both English and Spanish for the students’ parents, and referrals for housing assistance and child-care services. The program is funded through a grant from the Ventura County Probation Agency.
