Cal State Fullerton pitcher Adam Johnson, the No. 2 selection in the major league draft, said Monday he has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Twins and plans to sign a contract today at his home in San Diego. He said his signing bonus is in the $2.5-million range that was expected.

“I feel good about the contract,” Johnson said. “I want to get to the majors, and I think I’ll have that opportunity with the Twins. They also drafted me out of high school, and they’ve got me on their fast-track program.”

Johnson said he will begin with Fort Myers, Fla., in the Class-A Florida State League.

The game features all-star teams from California and Texas for the sixth consecutive year. California has won all five meetings, including last year’s 28-25 victory.

Grootegoed, a running back and defensive back who was The Times’ Orange County player of the year, is headed to USC. Last season, he ran for 891 yards and 14 touchdowns for a Mater Dei team that was a Division I co-champion with Long Beach Poly. On defense, he had 95 solo tackles, seven tackles for losses, 11 pass defenses, two caused fumbles and six interceptions.

Kluwe, a kicker and punter, is headed to UCLA. He connected on 16 of 25 field-goal attempts (five were blocked), including an county record 60-yarder to send a playoff game against Loyola into overtime. He also averaged 45.5 yards a punt.
