Dukes’ Donnels Has Home-Run Flurry

Albuquerque Duke first baseman Chris Donnels recently went on a home-run tear. He hit seven in an eight-game span, connecting in six consecutive games before his streak ended Tuesday.

He fell one short of the Pacific Coast League record for consecutive games with a home run.

Donnels, 34, is batting .360 with 17 homers and 54 runs batted in. Donnels played parts of five seasons in the majors with the New York Mets, Houston and Boston.
