Sonora High School cheerleaders will hold a cheer clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 8 to raise funds for their squad and prepare for next year.

About 40 members of the squad will be available to work with young girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, teaching them cheers, chants, jumps and other moves. The Sonora Cheer Clinic is the largest fund-raiser for the school’s junior and varsity cheerleaders, and goes toward costs for coaching, training and competition entries, squad officials said.

Registration for the clinic runs through Saturday with a fee of $25 that covers lunch. The clinic will conclude with a performance for family and friends.
