Three years ago, Granada Hills and Poly purchased scoreboards for their baseball fields. Finally, this week, the scoreboards are supposed to be up and working.

It took that long to maneuver through the Los Angeles Unified School District bureaucracy. The scoreboards have been mounted. Now the task is plugging in electricity.

Some Granada Hills fans worried what would happen once the Highlanders lost ace pitcher Kameron Loe to Cal State Northridge.

Coach Steve Thompson unveiled 6-3 sophomore Jonathan Beal earlier this week against Kennedy.

Beal doesn’t have the strikeout punch of Loe, but he threw effectively and offers the Highlanders hope for the future.
