Hearing Scheduled on Area Councils

San Fernando Valley residents can express their opinions about the creation of a network of neighborhood advisory councils at a series of workshops beginning Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Board of Neighborhood Commissioners will hold the first Valley hearing at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holmes Middle School, 9351 Paso Robles Ave., Granada Hills.

The city board if preparing a plan for a network of neighborhood councils and the two-hour hearings are scheduled to solicit input on such issues as the number of councils, their powers, size and the areas they will cover.

Future workshops, all of which begin at 6:30 p.m., will include:

* April 18 for the Mission Hills/Panorama City/North Hills area at Mid-Valley Regional Library, 16244 Nordhoff St.

* May 16 for the Arleta/Pacoima/Sun Valley areas at the Northeast Valley Senior Citizens Center, 11300 Glenoaks Blvd.

* June 14 for the Canoga Park/Tarzana area at the Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies Magnet School, 18605 Erwin St., Reseda.

* June 28 for the Sherman Oaks/Studio City area at CBS Studios, 4024 Radford Ave.
