Janssen, employed as a substitute starting pitcher in an attempt to boost the Barons’ struggling rotation, did not allow a hit through

five innings, hit a grand slam and added an RBI double as second-ranked Fountain Valley defeated No. 9 Los Alamitos, 9-3, in a Sunset League game at Los Alamitos. The senior right-hander, who last pitched as a freshman, struck out eight, issued no walks and gave up one unearned run.

does not have a girls’ team, had birdies on the par-three seventh and par-five ninth holes. Cho led the county with a 76 at the CIF-WSCGA (Women’s Southern California Golf Assn.) team championships in Murrieta last November.
