The last one took five overtimes. Sunday’s win hardly taxed the clock.

Andy Delmore, up and down from the Flyers’ AHL affiliate six times during the season, tied a playoff record for defensemen with three goals in leading Philadelphia to a 6-3 win over Pittsburgh and a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Mark Recchi had a goal and four assists, and the Flyers fed off the momentum created by winning the third-longest game in NHL history, their 2-1, five-overtime victory Thursday night.

This one was easier. They owned a 3-0 lead with 16 seconds gone in the second period.

“It’s all about confidence, and that’s what winning the [five-overtime] game did for us,” said Daymond Langkow, who scored with 23 seconds gone. The Flyers had a 2-0 lead in the first 3:27.

Delmore, who had only two goals in 26 regular-season games, has five in the playoffs, including the winner in overtime in Game 3.

His first goal Sunday came with 3:27 played and was followed at 17:50 of the second period and 5:17 of the third.

Delmore said he couldn’t find the words to describe how he felt.

“Even when I dream at night,” he said, “I don’t ever dream of that.”
