Share

A Thousand Oaks man robbed his stepson and the young man’s girlfriend at gunpoint Friday, then barricaded himself in an apartment for an hour before surrendering to police, authorities said.

The victims, both 20-year-old Thousand Oaks residents, were confronted by Daniel Carl Pryor, 41, at an apartment building in the 3100 block of Los Robles Road, according to Ventura County sheriff’s deputies.

Pryor pointed a gun at the couple, whom authorities would not identify, and demanded their car keys, deputies said. The victims complied. Pryor then barricaded himself in an apartment for an hour while Sheriff’s Department hostage negotiators attempted to contact him, according to deputies.
