Coyotes Could Get Gretzky as Owner
Could the Great One remake a not-so-great team in his image? Phoenix hockey fans might be about to find out.
Wayne Gretzky, who retired last year planning to spend two years away from hockey, is considering becoming part owner of the Phoenix Coyotes along with prospective lead investor Steve Ellman.
“It’s definitely the right offer. It’s just a question if it’s the right time,” Gretzky told The Arizona Republic.
Gretzky’s home phone number is unlisted, and Michael Barnett, his agent, did not immediately return phone calls to his office Friday.
