Titans Beat Simon Fraser

Cal State Fullerton got one more home-court basketball tuneup Wednesday night and responded with a 60-43 victory over Simon Fraser.

The Canadian team that defeated Fullerton by three points in its season opener last year was no match this time in a game the Titans designated as an exhibition rather a regular-season game.

Returning starter Brandon Campbell led the Titans with 16 points, and junior Kevin Richardson scored 14. Center Matt Caldwell returned after missing the first exhibition game because of disciplinary reasons and had a team-leading nine rebounds.

A crowd of 1,007 attended the game that was a benefit for Rodney Anderson, a Titan player who was critically wounded in a random shooting last March.

The Titans will open the regular season Nov. 17 at Oregon State.
