Without Warner and Faulk, Rams Still the Rams

1. Question: Can the Rams possibly win with two most-valuable-player candidates (Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk) out of the lineup?

Answer: Incredibly, it’s quite possible, despite last week’s loss to Carolina. The Giants’ secondary will have its hands full with Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt and Az-Zahir Hakim, and Trent Green’s passer rating (113.8) actually is higher than Warner’s (111.6).

2. Q: What’s the forecast in Denver?

A: Partly cloudy and cold for Monday, although it snowed in the area Saturday. Any snowballs would have to be prepared in advance and smuggled into Mile High Stadium. Advantage, Oakland.

3. Q: Doug Flutie or Rob Johnson?

A: Flutie starts for Buffalo for the fourth consecutive game, and if he wins for a third time, sorry to Johnson loyalists, but Flutie should play. Johnson’s best hope is to get into the game in relief today against Chicago and complicate the picture.

4. Q: What does Washington owner Daniel M. Snyder do when the Redskins don’t play?

A: He really likes to let go.

A: Several chances to win have slipped away, Miami figures to make them 0-10 . . . and it’s starting to look possible.
