Pacifica had a rough time when it ventured out of the Garden Grove League--losing to Woodbridge, 31-14; to Kennedy, 42-14, and to Tustin, 49-17. Valencia has a chance to roll over Pacifica too if Robert Hernandez gets time to throw. “They throw it often and to multiple receivers,” Pacifica Coach Bill Craven said. “We’ll have to get some pressure from the ends and cover well.” The Mariners’ offense can help the defense if Jacob Clark and Javon Smith can make some big plays. “We like the way Clark has been playing,” Craven said. “He puts a lot of pressure on the defense.”
