Belmont swept the boys’ and girls’ team championships at the City Section finals at Pierce College.
The Belmont boys won their sixth consecutive title and 16th in 19 years.
North Hollywood’s Natalie Stein won the girls’ race, tying the course record in a personal-best 17:13. Stein, a senior who also won the 1997 title, tied the record set last year by Valerie Flores of San Pedro. Stein finished 1:34 ahead of second-place Heather Rosas of San Pedro.
Daniel Clements of Woodland Hills Taft won the boys’ title in 15:16. Clements finished 13 seconds ahead of Eagle Rock’s Oscar Sanchez.
Belmont, which had 37 points, and San Pedro, which had 62, were girls’ teams that qualified for the state meet Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno. Belmont’s boys (45 points) and North Hills Monroe (104) also qualified.
