Lancaster has been beset by two tragedies in three weeks.

Last weekend, former player Dominick Batiste was killed in a car-to-car shooting in Carson.

Batiste, a senior at Carson High, played on Lancaster’s freshman team in 1997.

Last month, former Eagle Majdy Haddad, the Golden League’s lineman of the year as a senior last season, and a co-worker were killed during a convenience store holdup in Palmdale.
