Vanguard Women Win First Volleyball Match

Megan Godfrey had 12 kills and 13 digs Tuesday to give the Vanguard women’s volleyball team a 15-12, 15-7, 15-0 victory over Hope International in a Golden State Athletic Conference match at Vanguard.

Jennifer Johnson had 15 assists for Vanguard (1-11, 1-7).

In another GSAC match:

Biola 3, Concordia 0--Annie Sand had 11 kills and Carrie Merritt had nine for visiting Concordia (14-7, 3-5), which lost, 15-9, 16-14, 15-4.

In nonconference matches:

USC 3, UC Irvine 0--Larissa Carter had 11 kills and eight digs and Brenda Waterman had 15 digs and seven kills for host UC Irvine (6-6), which lost, 15-10, 15-5, 15-4.
