Crafts Festival in Town This Weekend

Share

From handblown glass to wood sculptures, the 11th annual Harvest Festival will help get the holiday season underway this weekend at Seaside Park.

The crafts fair, which draws about 15,000 people annually, will feature about 300 booths selling handmade gifts, original art and holiday items, many of which are made by local vendors.

For the past 10 years, Arlene Harris has sold her pillow lap quilts at the festival. The part-time Newbury Park resident said the festival is a special shopping experience.

“There’s always a warm and friendly atmosphere,” she said. “It’s always unique and different.”

The festival will also help fund programs for charities. People who bring a canned or packaged food item for Food Share of Ventura County will receive $1 off the entrance fee. Volunteers from the Humane Society of Ventura County will offer a bag check service for shoppers. Donations will help fund pet adoptions throughout the county.

Admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors 55 and older, $4 for children 6 to 12 and free to children 5 and under.

The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Seaside Park is at 10 W. Harbor Blvd. For more information, call 648-3376.
