Pringle Is Honored as CFL Player of the Week
Mike Pringle of the Montreal Alouettes was selected the offensive player of the week for the Canadian Football League.
The Kennedy High graduate ran for 140 yards and four touchdowns against the Edmonton Eskimos. His 18 rushing touchdowns tie a CFL season record. It is the fourth time he has been named player of the week.
BASEBALL
* Adam Hersh, a second baseman at Agoura High, has committed to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
* Tryouts for the U.S. national team that will compete in the World Maccabiah Games in Israel next summer will be Nov. 5 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Valley College. Jewish boys who will be between the ages of 14 and 16 by next summer are eligible.
The Maccabiah Games are scheduled for July 7-27 in Israel.
SOFTBALL
* The seventh annual Nicole Parker celebrity game will be held Oct. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Cal State Northridge.
