La Canada 30, South Pasadena 9--Eric Young completed eight of 14 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns for the Spartans (5-1) at La Canada.
Young connected with tight end Matt Jackson on scoring pass plays of 67 and seven yards, and with Lonnie Deitz on a 60-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Andrew Schwartz led the La Canada defense, tackling quarterback Thomas McGrail in the end zone for a safety in the second quarter to give the Spartans a 16-3 lead. Schwartz finished with three sacks.
La Canada limited South Pasadena (2-4) to 31 yards in 19 carries.
