Lancisero, a linebacker on defense, also led El Modena with 13 tackles, including one for a safety, and had two knockdowns of Canyon quarterback Brad Lusk. Vanguard defensive end Chris Bogdanoff had two sacks and Brian Fischbeck and Michael Patre each had interceptions. El Modena held Canyon to 94 yards total offense.

With a 21-0 lead at the end of the third quarter, El Modena rested Lancisero on offense, inserting sophomore Daniel Dixon at running back. Dixon responded with 94 yards in 13 carries.

“The offensive line really played well,” Dixon said. “They did a great job for Lancisero and me. We wanted to redeem ourselves after last week’s loss to Villa Park.”

Defensive end Robert Miller was a bright spot for Canyon (3-4, 0-2) with two sacks. Jason Nations rushed for 32 yards in 10 carries to lead the Comanche offense.
