OUTLOOK

The only blemish on the Warriors’ 1999 league record was a 16-15 loss to La Habra, which held Troy to its lowest point total of the season. The Warriors are already looking forward to an Oct. 22 rematch at La Habra. All-league quarterback Oliver had a tremendous 1999 season, setting a school record in total offense with 2,117 yards and completing 88 of 172 passes for 1,465 yards and 10 touchdowns. Turek, now in his 17th year, expects Oliver to attract plenty of attention from Division I college scouts this year. Welch was a favorite target, catching 28 passes for 562 yards, and Osborn rushed for 658 yards. Evenson gained 187 yards running behind an experienced line anchored by Frazier and Martinez, the only key returners on an offensive front that is pretty much being rebuilt. Chris St. Claire, Tim Baucher, Andres Carillo and Travis Gold are competing for the other spots. Schulz, a first-team all-league selection as a sophomore, leads an experienced defense that includes Allington, linemen Serrato, Lopez, McConnell and Liu. Allington had five interceptions last season.
