Virginia Tech, washed out of its opener with Georgia Tech and left in limbo as the Black Coaches Assn. sought a replacement for the Yellow Jackets in a makeup game, said Friday it won’t play, either.

Virginia Tech Athletic Director Jim Weaver said he informed the BCA on Wednesday that if the Yellow Jackets didn’t want to play, the No. 11 Hokies probably wouldn’t either.

Georgia Tech said Wednesday it wasn’t interested in making up the game on Dec. 1, as had been suggested.

State prosecutors in Florida issued arrest warrants for sports agent Tank Black and his assistant, Alfred Twitty, who are accused of paying former University of Florida players before their eligibility had expired.

Each could face up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine, although it seems unlikely either will face trial in the case.

Several players signed sworn affidavits admitting they accepted the money, including Jevon Kearse.
