If You Can’t Say Anything Nice, Get Into Boxing

Obviously Alvin Epstein [Viewpoint, March 31] is as dumb as Oscar De La Hoya. If De La Hoya had not become a boxer, garbage collecting or juvenile delinquency were not his only avenues out of Boyle Heights. Epstein’s attitude is the foundation for stupid comments like De La Hoya’s. At least De La Hoya has been hit in the head a number of times. What is Epstein’s excuse?
