Wallace Suspended Again

The Portland Trail Blazers suspended forward Rasheed Wallace for tonight’s regular-season finale against the visiting San Antonio Spurs for throwing a towel into the face of teammate Arvydas Sabonis during an argument in Sunday’s loss to the Lakers.

It was the second time this season Wallace has been suspended by Coach Mike Dunleavy for conduct deemed detrimental to the team.

The NBA fined Sacramento King guard Jason Williams $25,000 for inappropriate conduct directed at fans in San Antonio last Thursday. Williams was fined $15,000 in March for directing profanity at fans in Oakland. . . . Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves was fined $7,500 by the NBA for making an obscene gesture toward an official Sunday when he was ejected against the Utah Jazz. . . . Denver Nugget guard Voshon Lenard was arrested on misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a weapon after allegedly shooting at deer from his yard in Greenwood Village, Colo. Lenard, 27, was released on a summons, police said.
