The Top 5
The top five records in men’s golf:
1. Tiger Woods’ “Tiger Slam” of holding all four major titles at the same time. (If Byron Nelson says it’s bigger than his 1945 streak, we won’t argue.)
2. Nelson winning 11 consecutive tournaments in 1945. (So what if it was during World War II?)
3. Jack Nicklaus winning 18 majors. (And he finished second 15 times.)
4. Bobby Jones’ “Grand Slam” of winning the U.S Open, U.S. Amateur, British Amateur and British Open in 1930. (You can’t do anything better as an amateur.)
5. Ben Hogan’s three consecutive victories in majors in 1953. (If the PGA didn’t overlap with the British Open, don’t think Hogan wouldn’t have had his Ben Slam.)
