Golf superstar Tiger Woods confirmed that he is talking with Walt Disney Co. about a potential deal to be a pitchman for the company. “Right now we’re still talking about it, and we’ll see what happens,” Woods said in Orlando, Fla., where he unveiled a new Wheaties breakfast cereal for General Mills, for which he has been a spokesman since 1998. Woods, who lives in Orlando, would not discuss the likelihood of an endorsement deal with Burbank-based Disney or its terms. Disney officials also would not comment on a possible deal. Woods, who has a dozen endorsement contracts, has commanded as much as $20 million a year for a sponsorship deal with Nike Inc. Disney is said to be eager to sign Woods to plug several of its businesses, from theme parks to the ESPN sports channel and the ABC network.
