Fire in Vacant Building Had ‘Human Help’
From Times Staff Reports
A blaze in a vacant building Monday might have been started by homeless people to warm themselves, Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said.
“There was no way for it to have happened except with human help,” he said.
The one-story building at 22816 Vanowen St. in the Fallbrook Mall formerly housed the Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurant.
The total estimated loss was $250,000. No injuries were reported.
