Andy Roddick defeated top-ranked Gustavo Kuerten of Brazil, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2, Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Tennis Masters Series at Montreal.

“It’s a big win, but at this point in my career, I can’t really rank wins,” said Roddick, who drilled 17 aces past Kuerten.
