Small Plane Forced to Land on Street

A small plane made an emergency landing Wednesday evening on a residential street, but no one was seriously injured.
The single-engine Cessna 150 two-seater landed at 6:40 p.m. in the 8200 block of Fox Hill Street, damaging its nose and a brick mailbox. The pilot suffered minor cuts and scratches.
Police said Bryan Gerdes, 33, of Bakersfield, experienced mechanical problems while flying from Bakersfield to Fullerton Airport.
