Energy-Saving Signals

For those of us in San Diego, the piece on the replacement of traffic lights with light-emitting diodes is old news (“Traffic Signals Get a Better Green Light,” Aug. 14). I believe almost all of the red balls and arrows around here were retrofitted about four or five years ago. I’ve also noticed that most of the greens have also been replaced within the last year. Conservation, both in energy and water, is a way of life for those of us at the end of the energy grid and water pipeline.
