Corso, Vargas Up for Stanford Water Polo Job

Rich Corso and John Vargas, former U.S. Olympic men’s water polo coaches who coach high school teams in Southern California, are top candidates to replace retiring Dante Dettamanti at Stanford.
Corso is coach at North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake High. Vargas is coach at Newport Beach Corona del Mar. Vargas has an interview scheduled today, and Corso is flying to Palo Alto on Thursday.
Corso coached the U.S. Olympic team in 1996; Vargas coached the team in 2000.
Dettamanti has announced he will retire at the end of this season.
