ESPN to Expand Classic Sports to Europe
ESPN Inc., the sports network owned by Walt Disney Co., said it will introduce a new European sports network dedicated to classic sporting events starting in France next year.
The company will inaugurate its service in France, where it aims to reach 2.5 million subscribers through TPS and CanalSatellite, the country’s satellite-TV operators. ESPN plans to expand to other European markets over the following years.
AIn France, ESPN Classic Sport will show past games including soccer championships, tennis matches and historic races from the Tour de France.
